Update 6/14/2013: Exciting progress! The front wall is down, the stage walls and floor are painted; back wall has a first coat of paint. Curtains are in the works (gently used). The stage was used for the first time last Thursday night during the Honors Reception for the 8th Grade part of the program, Ryan Tipping-Spitz’s speech and the Student Speaker. The high school used the stage Friday for their awards ceremony. It was also used for the Eighth Grade Movie. Things are going well. Some lights were donated from the university but more are needed, and rigging to hang the curtains. Donations are still needed!
Update 9/26/2013: For more information about Reclaim the Stage, see the Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/pages/Reclaim-the-Stage-in-the-OMS/346826502090180. They are planning a BYOB (21 and older) fundraiser dance Nov. 2nd, 2013, at the Orono American Legion – check it out 🙂
